Our energy practice encompasses transactional matters, regulatory advices, and litigation associated with the exploration, development, production, transportation, and sale of hydrocarbons. The firm represents the diverse companies and institutions active in the oil patch including pipeline companies, oil field service contractors, the major oil and gas producers, independents, significant landowners, and financial institutions which serve the industry. We represent owners of oil and gas interests in administrative hearings before local, state, and federal agencies such as the Minerals Management Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Interior Board of Land Appeals, the Louisiana State Mineral Board, and the Louisiana Office of Conservation. We represent oil and gas clients in mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution forums, several state and federal courts, as well as in bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, we provide assistance in the negotiation and drafting of complex contracts required by energy transactions, and we provide accurate and easy to read land and mineral title opinions.
