Professional Experience
Mr. Dreuil practices primarily in the areas of oil and gas and maritime litigation. He represents independent oil and gas companies and oilfield service companies in a variety of litigation matters. Mr. Dreuil has prosecuted and defended numerous oilfield indemnity claims and operator and contractor liens under Louisiana’s oil well lien statutes. He also reviews and negotiates Master Service Agreements and other maritime and oilfield service contracts.
Representative Matters
- Representation of oil and gas companies in lawsuits involving contractual indemnity and other general contractual disputes.
- Representation of oil and gas companies in contractual disputes with co-working interest owners.
- Reviewing and negotiating Master Service Agreements and other maritime and oilfield services contracts, with particular emphasis on insurance and indemnity provisions.
- Advise clients on Louisiana and Texas oilfield indemnity statutes and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Acts (OCSLA).
- Representation of oil and gas and oilfield service companies in filing and enforcing and defending liens and claims arising under the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Act (La. R.S. 9:4861, et seq.) and the Louisiana Operators/Non-Operatings Lien Act (La. R.S. 9:4881, et seq).
- Representation of maritime companies in enforcement of maritime liens.
- Representation of oil and gas companies in litigation arising out of personal injuries on production platforms.
- Representation of oil and gas operators in civil penalty proceedings pertaining to noncompliance violations instituted by the Minerals Management Service.
- Representation of oil and gas companies in insurance coverage disputes.
- Representation of oil and gas companies in legacy/contamination lawsuits.
- Representation of maritime companies in matters relating to collisions, personal injury, and Jones Act claims.
- Representation of companies in charter party disputes.
- Representation of clients in employment-related disputes.
